Kinark Child and Family Services provides comprehensive support and services encompassing child and youth mental health care, autism services, and forensic mental health treatment.

Autism

Kinark Autism Services provides high quality, evidence-based services to children and youth (ages 2-18) with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. For families registered in the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), we offer free Foundational Family Services, including programs for children and youth with autism, as well as siblings, parents, and caregivers.

Child and Youth Mental Health

We offer a full range of assessment and treatment services, provided by an interdisciplinary team of clinicians to children and youth with complex needs and their families. Upon a thorough assessment of treatment needs, these services are provided to clients in the most appropriate environment to best meet their needs.

Forensic Mental Health and Youth Justice

At Kinark Child and Family Services, we strive to provide the best treatment and support for some of the most complex and challenging children and youth from across the province. Kinark provides court-ordered assessment, intensive treatment and re-integrative services to youth who are experiencing significant mental health issues.

Purple’s Story

“When we started the program, we were really in crisis…this year last time, I was an exhausted mother, I didn’t think it would get better, but it did…The whole [URS] program was a bridge between me and [Purple] that connected us together, I feel that connection.”

Purple is a 15-year-old, non-binary youth who was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). After displaying high-risk behaviours they were referred to the Ontario Autism Program’s Urgent Response Services (URS) team at Kinark. Purple received short-term, evidence-based interventions tailored to their high-risk needs.
