Conducting Research with Kinark
Kinark Child and Family Services welcomes research and evaluation projects that aim to improve outcomes for the children, youth, and families we serve. We support high-quality research that contributes to knowledge in child and youth services and informs evidence-based practice. Our goal is to ensure that research conducted with Kinark is ethical, meaningful, and helps inform better outcomes for the communities we serve.
Getting Started
Recruiting Clients or Families
Researchers who wish to conduct research involving Kinark clients and families must submit a completed Research and Evaluation Application with all supporting documents via email to our Research inbox.
All applications are reviewed by the Kinark Research Review Committee for:
- Scientific merit
- Ethical alignment with TCPS 2
- Feasibility
- Alignment with Kinark strategy and program priorities
The Research Review Committee will review your proposal and may request follow-up meetings to finalize research details. A Research Agreement outlining procedures for data collection, confidentiality, ownership, and authorship will be established once approved.
To allow sufficient time for review, applications must be submitted six (6) weeks prior to the end of each quarter. Submissions are reviewed on a quarterly basis.
Annual Submission Deadlines
- Feb 15
- May 15
- Aug 15
- Nov 15
Please note that responses to applications submitted to alternative email addresses may be delayed. Incomplete applications may also result in delays to your review.
Recruitment Support
Kinark cannot support recruitment through our social media channels. However, we may assist with recruitment through:
- External newsletters
- Posting or distributing approved flyers on site
- Email invitations to families who have consented to receive email communication
