Every year, World Mental Health Day reminds us that no one has to face their mental health challenges alone. It’s an opportunity to join a global conversation about the importance of mental wellness, accessing support, and reducing stigma.

Mental wellness plays a significant role in a person’s daily life, and it can affect people of all ages. For children and youth, good mental health helps them build healthy relationships, cope with challenges, and learn new skills as they grow. However, sometimes it isn’t easy for children and youth to manage their emotions or handle stress, and as a result they may struggle with their mental health. Likewise, it can also be difficult for caregivers to recognize when their child is struggling or to know how to support them through those challenges. That’s why we are here to help.

We recognize the importance of supporting the mental well-being of young people in our communities. We offer a full range of services where our clinicians work closely together with children and youth with complex needs and their families to find a treatment plan that best fits their needs.

At Kinark, we collect information on how we are helping kids and families. More than nine out of 10 caregivers of children and youth in our community-based child and youth mental health (CYMH) program agreed that services helped their child better manage the challenges in their life, and 98% of youth in our CYMH programs agreed that services helped them better manage the challenges in their life.

Mental health can be a long journey, but you don’t have to experience it alone. Learn more about our programs here and call Central Intake at 1-888-454-6275 to get started.
